Family Medicine

Dr McCarty obtained her bachelor of science in Physiology at McGill University.  Subsequently, she completed her medical degree at McGill’s faculty of medicine in 2009 and then completed her residency in family medicine at St Mary’s hospital, also with McGill. In 2011 she received her certification in family medicine with the college of Family Physicians of Canada. She has worked as an emergency locum doctor in the northern communities of Quebec, and also as an attending physician at a CHSLD (nursing home) in Montreal.

She has been practicing at the Brunswick Medical Center since 2011, where she has a large practice in pediatrics, though she sees patients of all ages. She also attends at the walk in clinic of Brunswick Medical Center. Dr McCarty has an avid interest in teaching and can often be seen with a medical student in her clinic.  She teaches at the medical school as well. She has obtained the designation of Faculty Lecturer with the Family Medicine Department of the Faculty of Medicine at McGill, and the title of Osler Fellow in McGill’s Physicianship course.
